Video guide to choosing the correct thermoplastic
Essentra Components has produced a video guide which might be useful for machine builders looking at thermoplastic moulded parts
In the video, Essentra’s Chris Butler offers his advice on key factors to consider when selecting a material for a new part. These include the amorphous and semi-crystalline structures of the thermoplastics, the high temperature, engineering and commodity classifications of thermoplastics and also the environmental conditions that the final part will be exposed to.
By explaining each of these elements and considering the application of the final component, Chris gives an experienced manufacturer’s insight into selecting the right thermoplastic materials for injection moulded components.
