Weidmüller showcases SIL3 SAFESERIES Safety Relay

Weidmüller will be exhibiting their new SIL3 SAFESERIES Safety Relays for the first time in the UK on Stand 202 at the Instrumentation Scotland and Offshore Systems exhibition being held at the Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre on 5th and 6th September 2012. The new SIL3 Relays have a wide voltage range input in the monitoring circuit, and G3 coated options.

The 24V DC safety relay is for use in the process industry for the emergency shutdown of facilities and plants. The range fulfils the requirements of EN 61508, SIL3. A model is available with G3 coating which is a requirement for applications where there is a high concentration of hydrogen sulphide.

A monitoring circuit version has a wide voltage input range of 24-230V DC which enables the detection of high voltage DC field signals from backup systems.

At the show, specialist staff will be on hand to discuss and show visitors a wide range of industrial portfolios focussing on ATEX and hazardous products, designed to provide certified and compliant systems for safe working in potentially explosive atmospheres. These will include:

PRO-H - switch mode power supplies for the process industry and for high-end automation systems. These products have a high MTBF, active load sharing for redundant applications and ATEX and zone 2 approval for hazardous area use.

ACT 20 X - PC configurable, intrinsically safe signal isolator/conditioner family for interfacing to Zone 0 hazardous areas. The product is suitable for installation in safe or hazardous areas of Zone 2. It is programmed using FDT/DTM software.

VARITECTOR EX - both pluggable and slim 6mm housed surge protection devices for intrinsically safe signal circuits for use in safe or hazardous areas from Zone 0 to Zone 2. Products offer both ATEX and SIL approvals.

KLIPPON Enclosure Series - the Klippon range of enclosures has been extended covering a range of IP ratings and materials to compliments the already established portfolio of products. The comprehensive range now includes TB, STB, K and POK enclosures. The Weidmüller assembly service can supply enclosures pre-assembled with terminals and cable glands according to your requirements.

WMF Terminals - the efficient and flexible option for the routing and distribution of signals. This space saving terminal block combines all the necessary functionality into a single system.

PRV and PPV Terminals - marshalling signals in control systems with PUSH IN terminals. The PRV, with its PUSH IN wire connection, is the most compact marshalling terminal worldwide.

Visit Weidmüller on Stand 202, leave your business card and you could be in with a chance to win a GPS satellite navigation system. To find out more about the new SIL3 SAFESERIES Safety Relays and other products, visit the website at www.weidmuller.co.uk.
