Widescreen industrial panel PCs for Smart Factory applications

Arbor Technology (UK) is promoting its stylish, yet incredibly robust range of ASLAN panel PCs in 16:9 widescreen formats for Smart Factory applications. Equipped with three Gigabit LAN (local area network) ports, the ASLAN Panel PCs have the ability to connect facilities, collect data streams, and control the production process in accordance with Industry 4.0 application requirements.

The ASLAN series features a 16:9 ratio widescreen 10-point multi-touch display which, in comparison with traditional resistive 4:3 displays, provides a better viewing experience and an improved user-interface.

With its stylish design, the ASLAN series is well suited to an increasing number of widescreen applications within industrial automation, discrete manufacturing, process manufacturing, process control, building automation, self-service kiosks and digital signage.

The ASLAN series panel PCs are powered by a quad-core Intel Celeron J1900 CPU that provides higher operating frequency, lower power consumption and better data processing - all of which make the ASLAN panel PCs highly capable for running SCADA systems. There is also a multitude of I/O for connection to a wide variety of peripheral devices including PLC, barcode scanner, sensors and an additional display.

The front panel features an anti-scratch surface and is sealed to IP65 for protection against dust and water splashes. The versatile and feature-rich ASLAN series is available in five lightweight models with display sizes ranging from 10.1inc (ASLAN-W810C) to 21.5inch (ASLAN-W7-22C).

Connectivity

The ASLAN panel PCs are equipped with one DVI-I video output, two 1.5W speakers, three Giga LANs, four USBs ports (one USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0) and four COM ports. In addition, The ASLAN series is featured with two service windows for changing HDD/SDD or CFast, and a barcode scanner or camera can be attached with a VESA mount to extend its capability.

The three Gigabit LANs can simultaneously facilitate RTU (remote terminal unit) connections, M2M (machine-to-machine) communication between machines or factories, as well as support company intranet and cloud connections.

In Industry 4.0 applications, vast amounts of production information generated by various manufacturing sources, sensors, and communication with RTUs and/or other devices can be collected, processed and passed on to centralised production management via one LAN. A second LAN could allow the panel PC to integrate additional industrial equipment, enabling better M2M communication by exchanging information within buildings and remote locations. The third LAN could then be used to link servers via clouds and cloud-based applications, resulting in conclusive information for viewing and real time control.

By taking advantage of the ASLAN's triple Gigabit LAN configuration, factory automation projects can benefit from accelerated time to market, increased efficiency, cost reductions and higher overall system quality.
