Wieland Electric's SNS 4084K Zero-Speed Monitor protects against dangerous machine or system movements, thereby helping to enhance safety and efficiency. This safety relay monitors the pulse frequency of sensors such as inductive proximity switches or incremental encoders, safely switching off any dangerous movement when the frequency strays outside the limits set on the device.
In addition, the Zero-Speed Monitor can also control locking bolts in applications where access to a dangerous machine parts is only provided when the machine movement is no longer a risk for the operator. Particularly suitable for safety-oriented retrofits in existing machines or systems, this versatile device can be used with any machine drive technology.
The limit frequency to be monitored is set between 0.1 and 99Hz using two rotary switches; this is stored permanently in the device via a simple configuration process. Wieland's Zero-Speed Monitor also has inputs for the implementation of a restart inhibit and a start override, which enables the device to be used with interlocked guards.
Designed for industrial applications where man and machinery interface, the SNS 4084K Zero-Speed Monitor combines superior technical performance in a compact housing only 22.5mm wide. The relay is supplied with either pluggable screw terminals or spring clamp terminals and can be used in applications up to PL e (Cat 4) according to EN ISO 13849-1 or SIL3 according to EN 62061. Wieland's wide range of safety switching devices covers all important safety functions while satisfying customers' complex requirements.
