William G Search wins Atlas Copco Compressors’ Distributor of the Year Award

Honouring William G Search with the Distributor of the Year Award, Ariel Rubinstein, general manager at Atlas Copco Compressors, said: “At Atlas Copco, we want to recognise and celebrate partners who contribute towards our overall growth.

“William G Search is thoroughly deserving of this achievement, having realised the highest total growth compared to 2021 of all our premier distributors. They are a truly valued distributor, and this award is a testament to the team’s hard work and dedication, which is greatly appreciated.”

Atlas Copco awards this annual prize to the distributor that has achieved outstanding performance across several areas. William G Search is a long-standing premier distributor of Atlas Copco, having supplied their compressed air products since 2001 as well as a full offering of quality air accessories and a portfolio of control, monitoring and management systems.

The family-owned business was founded more than 75 years ago in Leeds. Since then, William G Search’s Compressed Air division has grown steadily to now provide innovative air compressor solutions to customers in Leeds, Sheffield, Nottingham and surrounding areas, across a diverse range of markets and applications including food, paint, animal feed and stationery manufacture, as well as packaging and vehicle production. William G Search focuses on delivering energy-efficient solutions that reduce its customers’ overall operating costs, as well as helping them with legislation compliance, and health and safety requirements.

“There is a very strong collaboration between the two companies and growth has come from all three of Atlas Copco’s business lines (Industrial Air, Oil-free Air and Compressor Technique Service) and included a good mix of sales across all the product ranges, including industrial gas generators as well as air compressors,” continued Rubinstein. “They completed some large projects in 2022, which achieved substantial energy savings for their customers, and grew their service customer base, thanks in part to their great digital presence.”

The company prides itself on its open and honest approach, providing the highest quality support services and its investment in staff. Recent successes have seen William G Search’s Compressed Air division expand its service, sales, and parts teams to now employ 24 experts.

On receiving the accolade, Richard Search, managing director at William G Search, said: “Our team works hard every day to provide our customers with innovative and reliable energy-efficient compressed air solutions, and this award acknowledges that effort and determination, for which I thank them. Everyone here is proud of their achievements and the difference we make for our clients. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with Atlas Copco and their class-leading products in 2023, and our clients can expect to see many more solutions that not only save them money but also improve their environmental footprints.”

Also commenting on the award, Peter Schofield, group manager of compressed air and sealing at William G Search added: “Last year alone we helped our clients save over £4.7 million on their energy bills and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 1.9 million tonnes. Every team member plays a vital role in our success, and it’s their drive and enthusiasm that helps our business to prosper. It is an absolute pleasure to lead this team and I am incredibly proud of everyone in it.”
