Wire thread inserts exhibited at fastening event
Armstrong Precision Components was displaying a selection of its ArmaCoil wire thread inserts at the October 2008 Fastening & Assembly Solutions Exhibition. Included were standard off-the-shelf inserts, as well examples of specialist inserts, such as anti-galling silver-plated inserts for the aerospace industry.
Free Running and Screw-Lock inserts were being exhibited, as well as TwinCoil inserts for salvaging wire thread insert holes that have become worn or stripped, or for correcting out-of-position holes and tapped holes that are gauged to be oversized.
Many companies are today choosing to install wire thread inserts routinely during production in order to benefit from the improved joint performance, especially in lightweight components, applications where corrosion can be an issue, and where problem-free disassembly must be assured.
