Workshop: Machinery safety - what do we do now?

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is helping to promote an event, Machinery safety - what do we do now? being organised by the IOSH Rural Industries Group on behalf of the Farm Safety Partnership (FSP). This workshop takes place at the National Farmers Union (NFU) Headquarters, Stoneleigh, Warwickshire on 1 October 2013.

Workshop: Machinery safety - what do we do now?

The aim of the event is to share information and expand interest, involvement and support for the FSP. As such, the Workshop will be an open meeting, not just for FSP members. IOSH members and anyone else within the industry who feels they can play a part and contribute to the meeting is welcome to attend.

According to IOSH, the Workshop is intended to:

  • provide the latest analysis of the main causes of fatalities, injuries and ill health in agriculture
  • update delegates on emerging issues and the latest developments in relevant legislation, standards, technology and good practice
  • identify priorities for the FSP's Machinery Safety sub-group
  • encourage joint working and production of further guidance, information and initiatives

The Workshop will provide a forum to facilitate businesses and industry bodies in sharing information and taking the lead in producing guidance and finding new ways to promote good practice.

Programme

Following a series of short scene-setting presentations by keynote speakers, delegates will be invited to identify their current concerns (and solutions!) in small round-table groups. This is intended to promote discussion and networking. A feedback session will follow to identify and agree collective priorities and possibilities for joint working and delivery.

The event is free to attend, including refreshments and lunch, but places are limited and will need to be booked.
