Würth Elektronik presents WE-LAN 10G transformer series
Wrth Elektronik is expanding the portfolio of their Ethernet modules with LAN transformers for speeds of up to 10Gbit/s. The new transformers support Power over Ethernet (PoE) up to 100W and currents up to 1A per channel. Wrth Elektronik is currently the only manufacturer worldwide to offer 10-Gbit LAN transformers with an extended temperature range (-40 to +85degC).
WE-LAN 10G has a bandwidth of up to 500MHz and thus conforms to the IEEE Standard 802.3 with a bandwidth three-and-a-half times larger than comparable gigabit Ethernet products. This makes the transformers suitable for applications involving large data volumes, or ones in which a swift transmission of data is called for. One such example is the quasi real-time transmission of high-definition video data in the home entertainment sector or for video displays in the public space. Thanks to the extended temperature range, the modules are also suited for industrial applications - an important requirement for the growth sectors IoT (Internet of Things) and Industry 4.0.
The 10-Gbit LAN series is just one part of the comprehensive range of LAN products, with over 350 different articles of discrete and integrated (RJ45) LAN transformers. The company also supplies a large number of unfiltered RJ45 plug-in connectors.
Wrth Elektronik's product portfolio of LAN transformers covers all standard transmission speeds and is suited for industrial temperatures of up to 125degC and insulation voltages of up to 6kV.
