Yokogawa Belgium, a subsidiary of Yokogawa Electric Corporation, has received an important order from Air Liquide to completely replace the existing legacy control systems for their Air Separator Units (ASU) in Antwerpen and Seraing, Belgium.
To strengthen its competitiveness in an ever-changing industrial gas market, Air Liquide will, with this project, modernise these facilities by introducing technologies that will improve the flexibility, reliability and safety of its production operations.
At both sites O2, N2 and Argon are produced. Via a direct connection to a gas pipeline network, these plants deliver industrial gasses to customers throughout the Benelux region. For both production sites, Yokogawa Belgium will deliver the CENTUM VP R6 integrated production control systems and ProSafe-RS safety instrumented systems, and will be responsible for the engineering, installation, and commissioning of these systems and the training of plant operators.
Will de Groot, Managing Director, Yokogawa Belgium says: "Yokogawa believes that it was able to win this order thanks to its successful track record in delivering control systems to Air Liquide, the high reliability and long-term stability that its products have demonstrated at ASU plants all over the world, and the excellent engineering capabilities of Yokogawa Belgium."
