Functional safety encoder monitors speed, direction and position

The new Safe SENC incremental encoder with HTL interface from Wieland Electric is available as an accessory to the Wieland Samos range or for use with other third-party systems. This encoder makes it possible to monitor the speed, direction and position of a motor and/or machine load to provide secure feedback. Unlike a standard encoder, the SENC safety encoder allows speed and angle at the axes to be reliably measured, achieving a safety level to PLe (according to EN 13849) and SIL3 (IEC 61508). It is suitable for safety rated speed, direction and position monitoring of all machines. The SENC incremental encoder offers up to 1024ppr, depending on accuracy requirements, and is available in sizes 58mm and 90mm with hollow or solid shafts, together with matching cables and accessories.

Parker Hannifin valve portfolio gains more connectivity options

Parker Hannifin is adding an expanded range of network connectivity options to its valve platforms with the addition of an easy-to-configure, cost-effective Industrial Ethernet node. The addition of the P2M Industrial Ethernet network node provides an inexpensive means of connecting the company's H Series valve, its Moduflex valve and the H Micro valve families to the Industrial Ethernet network.

How dryspin technology benefits from high-helix threads

The high-helix thread design from igus is optimised to achieve greater efficiency compared with standard threads due to its flatter angle. The asymmetric geometry also yields a long service life and, because of the round tooth profile, operation is quiet and vibration-free. Available in stainless steel, the leadscrew is corrosion resistant, FDA approved and offers high level stiffness.
