Miniature float switches suit medical applications

elobau miniature float switches are compact and cost-effective for measuring fluids in medical applications such as dialyses machines. The 2000 and 2048 series of float sensors in particular are frequently used for level detection in medical applications, thanks to their compact size and versatility in design. As they operate on a reed contact basis, they also offer high reliability.

Board-level cameras with liquid lenses and autofocus

The latest versions of the LE AF USB 3.1 Gen 1 board-level cameras with liquid lenses from IDS now include single-shot autofocus capability. The liquid lenses enable the switching of focus in milliseconds for different object distances. These lenses operate for millions of cycles, are wear-free and have no moving parts, making them particularly suitable for applications where the working distance changes frequently and reliability is important.

Precision ball screws with three times longer life

Among the innovations being presented by NSK at EMO 2019 is a new series of ball screws which, among other things, achieves a service life that is around three times longer when subjected to high loads. Of enormous benefit to machine tool builders and users, this longevity is made possible by a specially devised surface texture that promotes improved oil film formation.

Low-cost process monitoring for CNC transfer machines

NUMmonitor, innovative new application software from NUM, enables users of high-throughput, multi-process CNC machine tools to implement process monitoring without incurring any additional hardware costs. The software is likely to be of especial interest to users of high-end production systems such as transfer machines, where even relatively small operating issues can rapidly escalate into much larger, more expensive problems unless proactive remedial action is taken.

Custom gaskets, sealing profiles and vulcanised assemblies

EMKA is promoting its capability for producing custom gaskets. While many installations of sealing gasket profiles fit the pattern of a common design, e.g. enclosure door seals, in many typical applications new sections are often needed to fit new equipment designs. While being generally of a common concept, e.g. a "P" profile form, the detail design and execution required to perform correctly in-situ may be significantly different from a standard production item. Custom-made products include: frames, rings, lengths, butyl, mastic, flock coating, notching, gluing, slip coating etc.
