Nexperia expands NextPower Live linear-mode MOSFET family

Nexperia is launching an addition to its NextPower Live linear-mode MOSFET family; the PSMN3R7-100BSE delivers a best-in-class combination of strong Safe Operating Area (SOA) and low RDS(on), and is well suited for hot-swap, soft-start and e-fuse applications. In order to manage the high in-rush current that can occur when swapping a server board or other pluggable system, or to ensure that a processor board is brought up smoothly, a MOSFET with high SOA is used in conjunction with a hot swap controller. Previous generation parts have traded off SOA against RDS(on), whereas the new technology maximizes SOA without affecting RDS(on), thereby maintaining high operating efficiency levels.

Analogue input module for PNOZmulti 2 safe control system

Pilz is introducing the PNOZ m EF 4AI analogue input module as an addition to the PNOZmulti 2 compact configurable safety control system. It can be used to safely record and monitor any process up to PL e or SIL CL 3. One particular advantage is the separate module program (mIQ) which can be used to make fine adjustments of the value. This ensures faster processing directly in the module, process monitoring is not only safer, but also more exact.

New accelerometers monitor vibration at very high temperatures

Kistler has added the world's first high-temperature accelerometer to its pressure sensor for the monitoring of gas turbines. Both the new accelerometers and pressure sensors are designed for long-term use at up to 700degC and are certified in accordance with the European ATEX guide lines for explosion prevention (Ex-nA and Ex-ia). The piezoelectric accelerometer is not pyroelectric and does not show any moisture-induced stress (popcorn effect) offering manufacturers and operators of gas turbines new options for monitoring the combustion stability.

Optimised plasma bevelling with ESAB iSeries

ESAB Welding & Cutting Products has optimised the consumables on its iSeries high-precision plasma systems for plasma bevelling applications. The new design, distinguished by a more pointed nozzle and shield cap, narrows the torch profile to enable tilting the torch at greater angles, moving the torch closer to the plate to maintain optimum arc lengths without collisions.
