Displacement sensors solve powertrain measurement tasks

Non-contact, high-performance displacement measurement sensors from Micro-Epsilon are solving measurement applications for a number of key UK-based powertrain developments, including the testing of vehicle turbochargers, engine coolant pumps and hydraulic valve systems. Protecting high-performance test stands reliably

High performance density, quick measurement value recording or increased energy-saving potential - the requirements on modern test stands are continually increasing. With these increasingly complex concepts come increased performance requirements on the torque-limiting clutches which protect expensive test pieces and sensitive measurement units. Flexible control system enables savings for washing machines

If, for practical reasons, an industrial Washer Extractor Machine (WEM) is not fully loaded, regulations still demand that the full amount of detergent and water be used for the load. This leads to unnecessarily high resource and energy consumption. In co-operation with the laundry company Ahrens Textilservice, Ott Wäschereitechnik GmbH has developed an innovative control system based on Eaton technology that will save both money and resources. Simultaneously, the system enables the co-ordinated drainage of a number of washing machines connected to a shared drain pipe.

Innovative automated tube bending cell allows increased output

The Walsall Wheelbarrow Company has installed a second custom-designed automated production cell from Unison to help meet huge demand for its unique "˜barrow in a box' product. The cell is part of a new production line that makes the frames for these wheelbarrows, and fully automates all tube bending operations. Commissioned during the summer of 2105, it has enabled the company to increase manufacturing throughput - from 1800 to 3500 wheelbarrows per day.

Peristaltic pumps maximise uptime for fluid transfer operation

Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Group has supplied peristaltic pumps to Novasep for its Sius TFF Skid, a tangential flow filtration system used in the biopharmaceutical industry to separate and concentrate biomolecules according to their size. The new skid is the first on the market to offer a 100 per cent single-use TFF system. Watson Marlow 520UN/R2 and 620UN/RE pumps were selected to facilitate the system's fluid transfer operations.
