M12 connectors for AC and DC applications

binder's new S-coded and T-coded power connectors are stated to be well suited for power transmission applications. The two standardized types are designed as per DIN EN 610276-2-111 for uses with motors and drives and also for supplying power to AC and DC consumers. The S-coded connectors of binder's 814 Series were developed for use in AC supplies up to 630V AC. They have a PE lead and can transmit, in the two-phase or three-phase version, power of up to 7.5kW. The power connectors of the 814 Series are said to be good for applications such as AC motors and drives, motor load switches and frequency converters.

Expanded PBL Series flanged enclosures announced by BCL

BCL Enclosures has expanded its PBL Series of flanged enclosures, said to be well suited for small assemblies or potting box applications to provide protection for small electrical systems. The flanged system assists with surface mounting and the Series can also be used to house and mount small PCBs, or be used as potting boxes.

New safety interlocks from ifm electronic

Safety interlocks in the new MN7XX series from ifm electronic use RFID technology in combination with bespoke actuator coding, which, according to the company, means that tampering and unauthorised operation are rendered virtually impossible. Suitable for use in safety systems that meet the requirements for PL e to ISO 13849-1 or SIL CL3 to IEC 62061, up to 32 of the new interlocks can be connected in series without reducing the safety functionality.

Just the gear to drive powerful conveyor belts

The two-stage MAXXDRIVE XT right-angle gear units from NORD are said to be well suited for belt conveyor systems in heavy-duty applications, especially those in the bulk material-handling industry. They are available in seven sizes for powers from 50 to 1,500kW with output torques between 15 and 75kNm. These units from NORD are stated to have a high thermal load capacity without external cooling and thanks to a ribbed design, together with axial fans and air guide covers, they can operate without the need for additional cooling.

Tailor-made tensioning solutions from norelem

norelem has announced the availability of new sprocket sets and tensioning pulleys, allowing machine builders to create custom tensioning solutions. The new range of tensioning devices is designed to be used with either belt or chain drives. With a variety of sizes for each product, they can, says norelem, be individually adapted to help minimise vibration and ensure drives are economical and quiet.

New white light interferometers

Micro-Epsilon has developed a completely new range of high-performance white light interferometers that provide what it claims are "Unmatched accuracy levels in absolute non-contact optical distance and thickness measurement". The units offer measurement resolution from 30 picometres and linearity from +/-10nm, the company states that these new interferometers represent a step change in accuracy from its confocal measurement systems.

Panduit announces PatchRunner 2 enhanced vertical cable manager

Panduit has launched its PatchRunner 2 Enhanced Vertical Cable Manager, which the company says is well suited for high-density cabling environments. It points out that the depth of the cable manager combined with integral Zero RU patching within the vertical channel saves almost half the space of a traditional cable management system. As a result, there is a reduction in square meterage that leads to cost savings for an overall network infrastructure.

New array sensor from SICK

SICK has developed what it says is "A versatile, high-precision array sensor that is easily adapted to a multitude of machine guidance and process control tasks in manufacturing and logistics". The new AS30 sensor provides repeatability up to 0.03mm and a wide 50mm 2D light band and is said to be well suited for classic array sensing tasks such as edge guidance or conveyor control. It also detects object positions, widths, diameters, gaps and centre lines and comes with a choice of proximity or reflector modes. SICK says it can also be used to reliably detect shiny, opaque or transparent materials.

New coolant hoses are modular and - er - cool

The new Elesa FH Modular Coolant Hose system is said to be proving a popular solution in metal cutting and machining applications, and for lubricating large compressors and other equipment in the oil and gas industries. This new system uses snap assembly of the single elements which allows adjustment of the lubricating jet with maximum flexibility, says Elesa, whilst maintaining stability in operation even in the presence of equipment vibration.
