Food-browning machine uses Heraeus CIR emitters

Carbon infra-red (CIR) emitters from Heraeus Noblelight form an essential component of an industrial browning machine on a food production line at Rowan Foods Ltd of Wrexham. The custom-built machine is used to brown potato and pasta toppings and follows on from the successful installation of a similar system seven years ago.

Adhesive bonding contributes to formula student success

It has been another highly successful motorsport season for UH Racing based at the University of Hertfordshire. At the German heat of Formula Student 2013, the team finished in a very respectable 23rd position in a field of around 90 in the Class 1 category. Indeed, it gave UH Racing the accolade of being the most successful UK Formula Student team of all time. It also picked up a fistful of prestigious awards, recognising excellence in individual aspects of this fiercely competitive, high-performance engineering project.

Drives for construction machinery: reliable raw material feed

Mobile EUROMIX concrete mixing plants from SBM Mineral Processing (SBM) enable economical concrete production and processing directly on site. SBM consistently relies on drive systems from Watt Drive (part of the WEG Group) to drive a variety of conveyor belts in its mobile mixing plants. This includes the mobile EUROMIX 400C plant that processes waste products into storage-grade concrete for the Dutch company Van Gansewinkel. Nitrogen generators help eliminate corrosion at power plant

Situated in Gondomar, in the north area of Portugal, Tapada do Outeiro combine cycle power station produces 15-20 per cent of the country's electrical needs. The company relies on an NG 81 generator from Atlas Copco Rental to supply pure nitrogen to replace the air in the steam generator's tubes when they are not in use, eliminating corrosion.
