Brevini Power Transmission has supplied a new motor and gearbox package to a theme park in Essex. The project required a compact drive arrangement to provide power to the rotating ride which could be delivered to a short lead time to suit the tight build schedule.

CNC upgrade rewrites the economics of centreless grinding

The grinding specialist RefreshEng has launched a re-engineered centreless grinder based on one of the world's most widely-used machines, with the aid of software development support from CNC vendor NUM. Controlled by NUM's Flexium CNC kernel, the upgrade converts any of the veteran Cincinnati 2-OM family of centreless grinder machines to the same kind of automated and precision machining available on state-of-the-art grinders - but for an outlay that is some 60 per cent lower than a new machine.

Successful projects rely on a blend of youth and experience

Brevini drive system keeps rock salt moving

Eaton Delivers UPS Support for the Open Source Community

As part of its long-term commitment to supporting the open source software community, Eaton has provided power protection for the computing infrastructure of Debian, one of the world's most popular free operating systems. The Debian infrastructure is primarily hosted at two sites: Darmstadt, Germany, and Vienna, Austria. At no cost to Debian, Eaton has supplied new Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPSs) and power distribution equipment at both sites, which were brought into service in February 2013.
