Rugged bulkhead housing for fibre optic transmitters, receivers

OMC is announcing its new FDH36 rugged bulkhead-mount housing for fibre optic receivers and transmitters. The new device incorporates an ST connector and has been developed as the ST version of OMC's popular FDH1 transmitter and receiver housing. The robust design of the FDH36 helps it withstand the harsh operating environments often found in industrial, automotive, mass transit and similar applications, including off-road vehicles.

ASCO proportional valves gain IO-Link digital interface

Emerson is introducing its ASCO Numatics Sentronic Plus (Series 614) and Sentronic LP (Series 617) proportional pressure control valves with integrated IO-Link communications to provide cost-effective and reliable control and diagnostics to support predictive maintenance. Using IO-Link communications to gain insight into these devices on the factory floor supports future implementation of Industry 4.0 and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications that will contribute toward greater plant reliability, availability and profitability.

Motion controller complements Mclennan's custom build service

Recently launched by Trio Motion and available with full support from Mclennan, the new Flex-6-Nano is a powerful integrated EtherCAT servo/stepper controller for high-speed synchronised motion and machine control. With factory loaded modules for 2, 4, 8, 16, 32 or 64 axes, and with additional motion expansion through add-on axis modules, the DIN-rail-mounted system also takes care of machine I/O and supplementary motion through Trio's modular Flexslice input, output and axis modules. The combination of factory loaded and field expandable motion, and I/O expansion, is a great fit for Mclennan's motion systems design and build service.

Yokogawa Electric Corporation has developed the DTSX1 fibre optic heat detector, an OpreX Field Instruments heat sensing and fire detection product. Housed in an enclosure and suitable for use with Yokogawa-specified fibre optic cables, the DTSX1 is a cost-effective all-in-one facility monitoring and fire detection product that is easy to install. It is expected that it will aid in the timely identification of maintenance issues and thereby improve plant uptime and reduce maintenance costs.

Miniature safety brakes are super-slim and energy-efficient

Available through Abssac, the BXR-LE type super slim safety brake has an impressive, space-saving, physical size. The spring-actuated brake model is half the thickness, but the same outer diameter, as its big brother, the type BXW series. It is operated by the compressive force delivered from several built-in springs that are activated in the event of a power failure or if the power is removed due to an emergency.

Variohm's EPT12R pressure sensor has titanium wetted parts

Variohm EuroSensor's new high-performance EPT12R pressure sensor combines cable-separated electronics and sensor units with titanium wetted components for high-accuracy pressure measurement up to 1500 bar at gas or liquid media temperatures from -45 to +200degC. Aimed at demanding motorsports powertrain or industrial pressure measurement tasks, the new sensor is optionally available for gauge or vacuum use with a choice of ratiometric or unregulated supply for 0.5-4.5V DC output.

Mouser Electronics is now stocking the TPS650861 multi-rail PMIC from Texas Instruments (TI). Integrating three controllers to deliver power up to 30A using large external FETs, the TPS650861 configurable power management integrated circuit (PMIC) offers flexible power options for multiprocessor systems-on-chip (MPSoCs) and field-programmable gate arrays (FPGAs).
